Job summary

Think Together in California seeks a Part-Time Substitute Program Leader to support students at various sites, acting as a positive role model and mentor.

Responsibilities include homework help, academic enrichment, supervising activities, and ensuring safety while following lesson plans and school policies.

Must have HS diploma or GED, 5-day availability Mon-Fri, and access to a schedule between 1:00 PM and 6:00 PM. Background checks and TB test are required.

Qualifications

• Experience working with young children and ability to inspire and motivate.
• Ability to speak and write standard English in a public school setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide homework assistance, academic enrichment and physical activity using provided curriculum.
• Create an engaging environment that fosters belonging for kids.
• Support students in positive behavior choices and apply disciplinary measures when needed.
• Engage children by following, implementing, and assisting in lesson plans.
• Ensure student safety by set up, break down, and maintaining the site.
• Promote positive interactions between volunteers and students according to child safety guidelines.
• Take attendance and review sign-in/sign-outs for students and volunteers.
• Identify student needs and communicate with Site Coordinator, teachers, and parents.
• Commit to a full-year program by arriving on-time and completing time cards.
• Participate in staff development activities.
