Job summary

Montgomery County Community College is seeking a Part-Time Student Services Assistant to support new and returning students across the College’s Student Services Resource Center and Welcome Desk. The role involves in-person and back-office duties, coordinating via phone, email, text, chat, Zoom, and self-service systems, and traveling between campuses as needed.

The position offers flexible hours with primary shifts at Blue Bell campus and additional evening/weekend coverage to assist enrollment

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required with 3 years work related experience required OR Associate’s degree may be preferred with 1 to 2 years work related experience required
  • Proficiency in computer skills required
  • Excellent communication, both written and oral required
  • Specialized knowledge in customer service processes may be required

Responsibilities

  • Provide front-line customer service at the Student Services Welcome Desk
  • Support the Student Services Resource Center operations and enrollment services
  • Assist Testing Center operations and coordinate with Enrollment Services Assistants
  • Communicate with students via in-person, phone, email, text, online chat, Zoom and Self-Service systems

Job description

Montgomery County Community College invites applications for the Part-Time Student Services Assistant positions. The Part-time Student Services Assistant will provide support to both new and returning students at the College as part of the College’s mission of access, retention, and completion, with responsibility for ensuring a high level of customer service through support of the Student Services Resource Center, duties at the Student Services Welcome Desk, support of the Enrollment Services Assistants and providing support in the Testing center.This includes in-person and back-office duties.Service touchpoints will include the use of the following methods: in person; phone; email; text; online; chat Starfish; Zoom, and other Self-Service systems to support student success.

Position 1: Monday through Friday: 8:00am-1:00pm, and Saturdays as needed.

Position 2 & 3: Monday through Thursday: 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM; Friday: 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM, andSaturdays as needed

These positions are 25 hours per week. During peak times, employees may work up to 29 hours.

*These positions have college-wide responsibilities and require travel between all campuses and off-site locations. The primary office location will be the Blue Bell campus.

**These positions have been approved for a flexible work option arrangement. Flexible work options can be ended at any time by the College, Cabinet, and/or supervisors based on employee performance and/or as institutional needs change.

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
Education/Training/Work Experience:
  • High School diploma or GED required with 3 years work related experience required OR Associate’s degree may be preferred with 1 to 2 years work related experience required Proficiency in computer skills required Excellent communication, both written and oral required
