Job summary

University of the Incarnate Word is seeking a Student Lab Technician for a part-time role in its basic science research laboratory on campus. The position involves conducting and assisting with experiments, collecting data, and summarizing results under faculty supervision.

Ideal candidates are UIW students pursuing a health or basic science bachelor's degree, available for 20 hours per week with occasional Saturday duties. Salary is $15.00 per hour; open recruitment for multiple positions.

Qualifications

• Proficient use of Microsoft Office.

• Adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and the NCAA.

Responsibilities

• Assists in conducting a variety of scientific experiments and research projects of high complexity, collecting, evaluating, and interpreting data.
• Assists investigator or higher level technician with research studies, experiments and assays including collection of data, preparation of solutions and set-up and maintenance of equipment.
• Performs database queries of historical data and organization of data into spreadsheet for use in research studies.
• Work with other Research Assistants and maintaining an orderly and efficient research environment.
• Assists in the inventory of all reagents, supplies, and other materials in the research area.
• Ensures proper maintenance of equipment.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
