Job summary

University of the Incarnate Word is inviting part-time faculty to join the School of Mathematics, Science, and Engineering as a Lecturer in Chemistry for the 2026-2027 year. The role includes teaching undergraduate chemistry courses and related labs while upholding the UIW Mission and high professional standards.

This pool will remain online to hire as needed for 2026-2027. The position is not benefits-eligible and reports to the Dean of the School of Mathematics, Science, and Engineering.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Chemistry or related field with 18 graduate hours in chemistry-related areas.
• Ability to teach undergraduate chemistry courses and use instructional technology.
• Flexibility to teach day, evening and weekend sections as needed.

Responsibilities

• Prepare course outlines and teach per approved syllabi.
• Deliver interactive lectures and assessments for assigned courses.
• Collaborate with department faculty to meet curriculum outcomes.
• Be available outside class to support student learning.
• Adhere to UIW Faculty Handbook policies and maintain records.
• Maintain professional relationships with faculty, staff and students.
