Job summary

Valencia College is seeking a Part-Time Career Advisor to guide students through career exploration, major selection, and transfer planning. You will conduct individual and group advising, workshops, and presentations to support career readiness and success.

The ideal candidate is student-centered, collaborative, and experienced in higher education advising with strong communication and research abilities. This role is onsite with some flexibility for occasional remote work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution.
• Experience in educational services or student advising is preferred.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist students in exploring career options through self-assessment and guidance.
• Advise on major selection and transfer requirements across institutions.
• Educate students about resume writing, interviews, and career materials.
• Promote Career Center services and maintain accurate records of activities.
• Provide developmental advising for goal setting and educational planning.
• Operate in an on-site Career Center with occasional remote work as needed.
