Job summary

Family Dollar in Cleveland, TX is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with day-to-day store activities, help organize merchandise, and ensure seasonal areas are maintained.

The role requires strong communication and frontline leadership; you will train and supervise store associates, uphold safety and company policies, and help with scheduling, payroll, and loss prevention.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. from floor to above shoulder height and meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with day-to-day store activities and operations.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and answer questions.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom and floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures.
• Support payroll, scheduling, cash handling, and loss prevention.
• Supervise and develop store associates.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked sales floor and stockroom.
