Job summary

Dollar Tree seeks an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with daily store functions, organize merchandise, and help train Store Associates to maintain a clean, welcoming environment.

The role emphasizes supervisory tasks, problem solving, and ensuring compliance with company policies while delivering excellent customer service in a fast-paced retail setting. This is a part-time position based in North Augusta, SC.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives (e.g., merchandise schematics).
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform physical duties.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor; maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives related to store activities and communications.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays; protect store assets and cash.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping (payroll, scheduling, and cash handling) and loss prevention.
• Maintain a clean, well-stocked store and organized stockroom according to company standards.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and associates.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Follow safety policies and ensure all associates adhere to procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.
