Job summary

Dollar Tree Stores in North Charleston, SC is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support daily store operations, customer service, and team development. You will help with merchandising, openings/closings, and adherence to corporate directives while maintaining a safe, welcoming environment.

The role requires high school diploma or equivalent and store management experience is preferred. Physical ability to lift up to 55 lbs and work in a high-energy team setting are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns they may have.
• Help organize, and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor as needed and ensure seasonal areas are maintained.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and related communications for store activities.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays effectively.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping, and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets including store cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines and ensure staff follow procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
