Job summary

Dollar Tree, Inc. in Charleston, SC is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to oversee store operations, customer service, and team development.

You will assist in daily tasks, organize inventory, and support the Store Manager in training associates to maintain a friendly, safe shopping environment. This part-time role involves opening/closing procedures, merchandising, cash handling, and adherence to company policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read and explain operational directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs. and frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills required.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Assist in organizing and transferring merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional displays and loss prevention.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, and record keeping (including payroll, scheduling, and cash receipts).
• Maintain store areas to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines and ensure associates follow procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Ensure store cleanliness including restrooms, floors, trash removal.
• Other duties as assigned.
