Job summary

Dollar Tree in Columbia, SC is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support daily store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist in merchandising, staff training, opening/closing duties, and enforcing company policies.

The role emphasizes maintaining a clean, organized store, handling payroll/scheduling, securing assets, and delivering exceptional customer experiences in a fast-paced retail environment. Part-time position with opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address any questions or concerns they may have.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor as needed and ensure the seasonal areas are maintained.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and related communications.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping (including payroll, scheduling, and cash deposits), and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets including store cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines; ensure associates follow procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Foster a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Maintain store cleanliness and restocking bathrooms, floors, trash, and neatness.
