Job summary

Dollar Tree, Inc. in Gainesville, FL is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development.

You will assist with daily store activities, help customers, organize merchandise, and maintain displays in a fast-paced retail environment. The role includes opening/closing duties, processing directives, payroll and scheduling, loss prevention, and supervising Store Associates to ensure a safe, friendly shopping experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives related to store activities and maintain security of assets.
• Maintain promotional displays and store-front fixtures.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping (including payroll, scheduling, and cash handling), and loss prevention.
• Maintain a clean, well-stocked store and organized stockroom per company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to policies and procedures including safety guidelines and ensure staff compliance.
• Assist Store Manager in supervising, training, and developing Store Associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe environment with professional customer interactions.
• Maintain cleanliness throughout the store including bathrooms, floors, trash, and neat presentation.
• Handle other duties as assigned.
