Job summary

Dollar Tree, Inc. in Denison, IA is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development.

You will assist with daily store activities, organize merchandise, and ensure compliance with corporate directives while maintaining a safe, welcoming environment for customers and colleagues. The role requires strong communication, the ability to lift up to 55 lbs, and experience in retail management or customer-facing environments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills are required
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills are required

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor
• Perform opening and closing procedures
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping including payroll, scheduling, cash deposits and receipts, and loss prevention
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom
• Protect and secure store assets including cash
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines and ensure associates follow procedures
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff
• Keep the store clean including restrooms, floors, trash, and overall neatness
• Other duties as assigned*
