Job summary

Dollar Tree, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in Winterset, IA to support store operations, customer service, and team development.

You will assist with daily activities, organize merchandise, and help with payroll, scheduling, and cash handling while maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming store environment. The role requires strong communication and leadership skills, the ability to lift up to 55 lbs, and a high school diploma or equivalent.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain directives is required
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or related environment is preferred
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks regularly
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed
• Assist with payroll, scheduling, and cash handling and other directives
• Maintain store cleanliness, shelves, and stockrooms to company standards
• Protect assets and ensure safety policies are followed
• Support Store Manager in training and developing Store Associates
