Job summary

Dollar Tree, Inc. in Maryland is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with day-to-day tasks, help customers, organize merchandise, and ensure seasonal areas are well maintained.

You will participate in opening/closing procedures, assist in payroll and scheduling, train associates, and uphold company policies while maintaining a safe, friendly shopping environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required (preferred).
• Retail store management experience preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional effects of storefront fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged goods, record-keeping (payroll, scheduling, cash deposits/receipts), and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure store assets, including cash.
• Adhere to policies and procedures and safety guidelines.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Maintain cleanliness throughout the store, including restrooms, floors, and trash.
