Dollar Tree, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support daily store functions, help customers, and develop a high-performing team in Lexington Park, MD. You will assist with opening and closing, organize merchandise, and ensure store standards.

You will train and supervise associates, uphold customer service excellence, and protect assets while following company policies. This part-time role offers a supportive work environment and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives such as merchandise schematics.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and handle frequent walking, standing, bending, and lifting.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and problem-solving skills required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays for storefronts.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping (payroll, scheduling, cash deposits/receipts), and loss prevention.
• Maintain store areas to company standards, with well-stocked floors and organized stockrooms.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines; ensure associates follow policies.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff.
• Ensure cleanliness of the store including bathrooms, floors, and trash removal.
• Other duties as assigned.
