Job summary

Dollar Tree is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in Louisville, KY to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with daily activities, help customers, and ensure merchandise moves smoothly from truck to floor, while upholding company standards.

The role emphasizes opening/closing procedures, payroll and scheduling tasks, and supervising Store Associates to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming shopping environment for all customers and colleagues.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives (e.g., merchandise schematics) is required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. from floor to above shoulder height and meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills are required.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address any questions or concerns
• Help organize merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed
• Maintain areas of the store to company standards and ensure assets are secure
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, and cash handling
• Supervise, train, and develop Store Associates under the Store Manager
