Job summary

Dollar Tree, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run daily store operations, improve customer service, and develop team members in a fast-paced retail environment.

You will oversee inventory flow, merchandising, and staffing, while ensuring safety and policy compliance. The role emphasizes strong communication, teamwork, and hands-on leadership to maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming store.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives (e.g., merchandise schematics) required
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred
• Must lift up to 55 lbs; frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills required
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills required

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns they may have
• Maintain areas of the store and organize stockroom and sales floor
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed
• Process corporate directives and store communications
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, cash deposits and receipts, and loss prevention
• Keep store well-stocked and organized, ensuring cleanliness and presentation
