Job summary

Dollar Tree is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in Council Bluffs to help oversee daily store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with opening and closing, organize merchandise from delivery to floor, and ensure seasonal areas remain well presented.

This role requires strong communication, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and a commitment to safety and loss prevention.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical duties.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns they may have.
• Help organize, and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and related communications to store activities.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays for store-front effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to policies and procedures including safety guidelines.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff.
• Maintain cleanliness throughout the store, restocking bathrooms, sweeping and mopping floors.
• Other duties as assigned.
