Job summary

True Precision Medical in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a dependable SPD Technician to support the surgical team. You will clean, inspect, sterilize, and store instruments, ensuring patient safety and instrument readiness for procedures.

The ideal candidate will follow established procedures, communicate with clinical staff, and maintain accurate sterilization records. Prior SPD experience and CPRDS certification are preferred for this part-time position.

Qualifications

• Must have HS diploma or equivalent.
• Preferred: CRCST or CSPDT certification.
• Knowledge of instrument care, decontamination and sterilization processes.
• Ability to follow written procedures and safety protocols.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Receive, sort, and decontaminate reusable instruments and equipment.
• Inspect instruments for cleanliness, damage and proper function; remove defects from service.
• Assemble, package, and label instrument trays and sets.
• Operate sterilizers and cleaning equipment per manufacturer instructions.
• Perform sterilization monitoring, verify results, and escalate issues.
• Maintain sterilization records and instrument traceability documentation.
• Store and distribute sterile supplies with proper stock rotation.
• Coordinate with nursing and surgical staff to ensure instruments are ready for procedures.
• Monitor inventory and report shortages or equipment issues promptly.
