Job summary

Phoenix Children's in Glendale is seeking a Sterile Processing & Distribution (SPD) Certified Technician to support decontamination and sterilization of surgical instruments in accordance with AORN, JCAHO, OSHA, and AAMI standards. The role requires working knowledge of decontamination, instrumentation, and a national SPD certification; day shift Monday through Friday, 9 am to 5:30 pm, full-time.

• SPD Certified Technician with national certification.
• Experience in decontamination and sterilization of surgical instruments.
• Knowledge of instrumentation and Sterile Processing standards.

Responsibilities

• Assure decontamination of instrumentation per AAMI standards.
• Receive soiled case carts and instruments into the decontamination area.
• Prioritize instruments needed for turnaround.
• Maintain records for sterilization.
• Act as liaison between the OR and Sterile Processing to communicate changes.
• Inspect instruments for damage and ensure proper testing.
