Job summary

Georgia Aquarium is seeking a Production Technician I – Part-Time to assist in the daily operation and maintenance of lighting, electrics, and production for theatre, events, and guest programming. The role includes operating a follow spot during presentations, rehearsals, and special events, and supporting multiple production departments as needed.

This entry-level position requires flexibility to work long hours, weekends, and holidays, and offers opportunities for cross-training in lighting,

Qualifications

Minimum (2) years’ experience in live entertainment and theatrical/special event production.
Possess basic knowledge of live entertainment, theatrical and special event production and operations.
Experience with lighting systems, follow spots, lighting computers and basic programming.

Responsibilities

Assist in daily operation and maintenance of lighting/electrics production for theatre, production and events.
Operate a follow spot for presentations, rehearsals and events.
Support other production departments including wardrobe, props, scenery, and audio/visual.
Operate as a Stagehand/Production Assistant as needed.
Participate in load-ins, turnarounds and strikes as needed.
Assist with training of new personnel on follow spot and show operations.
