Job summary

Georgia Aquarium, Inc. is seeking a Part-Time Production Technician (Level I) to assist in daily operation and maintenance of lighting/electrics for theatre, production, and special events.

You will operate a follow spot for performances and rehearsals and support all production departments as needed. The role includes training opportunities in lighting, audio/visual, and camera systems, with potential for growth in live entertainment operations and related tasks.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in live entertainment and theatrical production.
• Possess knowledge of lighting systems, follow spots, lighting computers and basic programming.
• Experience with audio, special effects and camera/video systems a plus.
• Possess strong MS Word and MS Excel skills.
• College degree or equivalent professional work experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist in daily operation and maintenance of lighting/electrics for theatre, production and events.
• Operate a follow spot for presentations, rehearsals and events.
• Support other production departments including wardrobe, props, scenery and audio/visual.
• Operate as a Stagehand/Production Assistant as needed.
• Participate in load-ins, turn-arounds and strikes.
• Assist with training of new personnel on follow spot and show operations.
• Perform maintenance and cleaning of production spaces as necessary.
