Job summary

Lawrence University Björklunden is seeking a part-time kitchen and guest services assistant to support daily operations in the Björklunden lodge. You will engage guests and donors, assist with food prep and service, and help host events requiring meal preparation and cleanup.

Responsibilities include housekeeping duties, backing up other team members, and performing other duties as assigned. Must be flexible to shift mornings, evenings, and weekends, with training provided for kitchen standards.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in food service, and kitchen work preferred; training provided.
• Ability to adhere to kitchen sanitation standards and safety protocols.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and ability to function in fast-paced environments.
• Ability to collaborate with colleagues, including student workers.
• Experience working with young adults preferred.
• Flexibility to work mornings, evenings, split, and/or weekend shifts.

Will work collaboratively with all members of the Björklunden team. Must be able to provide excellent customer service to all members of the campus community, to respond to and work with students, faculty, staff and visitors in a professional and courteous manner, and to work independently and with team members.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to stand and remain on feet for extended periods of time throughout the work shift.
• Must be able to safely lift, carry, push, or pull items weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to bend, reach, and perform repetitive motions as needed to fulfill job duties.

Employment Requirements

• Must have successful completion of criminal record check, driving record check and reference checks.
• Must possess a valid Wisconsin Driver’s license and ability to meet University driving standards.
