Reeves County Recreation Center in Pecos, TX is seeking a Part-Time Sports and Recreation Assistant to support front-line operations in the center. You will help set up equipment, monitor facilities, assist at front desk, and ensure a safe, inclusive environment for visitors of all ages.

The role emphasizes customer service, event support, and basic safety tasks such as First Aid readiness. Flexible scheduling includes evenings, weekends, and holidays based on center hours.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED (or current student).
• CPR, AED, and First Aid certifications (or ability to obtain soon).
• Experience in customer service or recreation/athletics preferred.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and public-speaking skills.
• Ability to work with diverse age groups; conflict-resolution skills beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Oversee gym floors and ensure safety; enforce center policies.
• Set up, assemble, and store athletic and event gear before/after programs.
• Assist in organizing, refereeing, or leading youth leagues, classes, events.
• Greet patrons, check in members, handle registrations and front-desk tasks.
• Administer basic First Aid or CPR/AED care as needed and report hazards.
• Sanitize equipment and high-touch surfaces regularly.
