Job summary

Poway Healthcare Center is seeking a Staff Speech-Language Pathologist to evaluate residents, develop and implement treatment plans, and supervise CFY fellows and students. The role requires collaboration with physicians, nursing and therapy staff to optimize residents' communication, swallowing, and cognitive outcomes.

Responsibilities include ongoing documentation, training of staff, and participation in quality assurance and rehab program development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology; Masters/Doctorate preferred.
• Proficient using Net Health and PointClickCare.
• Licensed Speech-Language Pathologist in the state; continuing education as required.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate residents to determine speech therapy needs and rehabilitation potential.
• Develop and update individualized treatment plans to improve communication, swallowing, and cognitive functions.
• Supervise CFY- Speech Clinical Fellows and students as applicable.
• Maintain timely, accurate documentation per facility and regulatory requirements.
• Educate residents and families on treatment goals and home exercise programs.
