ChristianaCare is hiring a Part-time Specimen Processing Technician in Newark, NJ. The role supports testing of specimens in the General Laboratory with a 20-hour workweek, mainly day shift (7:00am–3:30pm) and alternate weekends.

Typical duties include processing, labeling, prioritizing, and communicating specimen needs. Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, with preference for two years of clinical lab experience or related health care coursework.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Two years of clinical lab experience or equivalent coursework preferred.

Responsibilities

• Process, sort, and deliver laboratory specimens and request slips.
• Print and affix identification labels to incoming patient specimens.
• Prioritize work to ensure stat samples meet turnaround times.
• Communicate specimen priority to testing personnel upon delivery.

Education

Two years applicable clinical experience in lab setting or health care courses
