Job summary

Ethos Laboratories seeks a diligent Specimen Collector to gather urine, oral fluid, and blood samples in physician offices and clinical settings, following Ethos procedures and HIPAA guidelines. Strong attention to detail and professional patient interaction are essential.

You will verify patient information, complete requisitions, prepare specimens for shipment, and input data into LIS/EMR as required, working independently with remote supervision.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Prior specimen collection, laboratory, or medical experience preferred but not required.
• Experience in customer service, logistics, or data entry environments preferred.
• Reliable transportation required.
• Able to follow procedures and maintain confidentiality (HIPAA).

Responsibilities

• Collect patient specimens including urine and oral fluid samples.
• Perform anterior nasal swabs for COVID-19 testing when required.
• Perform blood specimen collection via venipuncture when applicable.
• Follow patient identification and specimen collection protocols.
• Label and package specimens for transport to the laboratory.
• Enter patient information into LIS/EMR as needed.
• Coordinate with clinic staff to obtain missing information.
• Maintain a safe, clean working environment and adhere to compliance standards.
