Lone Star College is seeking an PT Specialist IV in Admissions & Enrollment Services at our Houston-area campus. You will manage admissions applications, verify program data, and maintain student records in PeopleSoft (iStar) and OnBase while assisting staff and students with inquiries.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma and at least 5 years of related work experience.
  • Associate degree or higher and experience in Admissions, Advising, or Financial Aid preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to handle multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Process admissions applications and load into the student information system.
  • Verify and update active and discontinued programs in the SIS and ApplyTexas.
  • Audit data to ensure integrity and resolve discrepancies with campuses.
  • Respond to student inquiries in person, by phone, and via email.

Lone Star College-Atascocita Center is a satellite location of LSC-Kingwood. The center provides a variety of services, includingadmissions, advising, registration, testing, tutoring, and libraryservices. Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY:

The PT Specialist IV, Admissions and Enrollment Services isresponsible for a wide array of functions within Admissions &Enrollment Services, many of them technical, such as processingadmission applications, test scores and transcripts, as well asresponding to enrollment issues and maintaining student records,documents and files. Serves as subject matter expert to LSCfaculty, staff and administrators on topics related to Admissions& Enrollment Services and is responsible for maintaining dataintegrity by auditing own work and work of others. Helps ensurethat consistent Admissions & Enrollment Services practices arefollowed throughout Lone Star College System.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  1. Serves as a resource and subject matter expert to LSC faculty,staff and administrators on topics relating to Admissions &Enrollment Services. Responds to student inquiries in person, byphone and through email
  2. Provides basic Admissions & Enrollment Services-relatedtraining to employees
  3. Handles all processes related to admissions applicationsincluding loading them into the student information system,verifying and updating active and discontinued program/plans in thestudent information system and ApplyTexas
  4. Runs technical processes to assign or release serviceindicators
  5. Conducts a variety of research, including compiling in-depthsummaries of high schools
  6. Performs auditing functions to ensure and maintain dataintegrity; works with campuses to troubleshoot and resolve anydiscrepancies
  7. Makes a variety of corrections to student records (e.g. socialsecurity numbers, grade changes, Bio/Demo data, etc.)
  8. Receives transcripts and other student record documents andenters data into PeopleSoft (iStar) and scans to OnBase
  9. May supervise and delegate the workload of a team of staff
  10. Responsible for other reasonable related duties asassigned
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
  • Proficiency in use of standard office equipment and softwareapplications
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communicationskills
  • Ability to ensure compliance with due dates/deadlines andregulatory requirements
  • Ability to transfer knowledge to peers, subordinates and higherauthorities
  • Ability to work on multiple projects
PHYSICAL ABILITIES:

The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably todo the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending;carrying of light items, such as papers, books, or small parts; ordriving an automobile. No special physical demands are required toperform the work.

WORK SCHEDULE AND CONDITIONS:
  • Equipment used includes, PC workstation running on a LAN in aMicrosoft Windows environment, calculator, phone and other generaloffice equipment
  • Interface with internal and external contacts as needed to carry out the functions of the position
  • Work is performed in a climate-controlled office with minimalexposure to safety hazards
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school diploma and at least 5 years of related workexperience, or an equivalent combination of education andexperience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Associate¿s degree or higher and previous experience working inAdmissions, Advising, or Financial Aid at a college
Salary

Hourly Pay Rate is $16.66
