Job summary

City of Gainesville, GA is seeking personnel to ensure safety, security and smooth operation of Special Event programs. Responsibilities include greeting attendees, guiding patrons, monitoring facilities, and reporting issues to supervisors.

The role requires a professional demeanor, ability to work a flexible schedule and to be available for all special events, with up to 29 hours per week. None of the listed certifications are required.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and write.
• Ability to understand and follow instructions.
• Ability to deal with the public in a professional and courteous manner.
• Knowledge of overall functions of the Agency.
• Ability to perform some lifting and routine maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the safety, security, and maintenance of all activities related to Special Event programs.
• Provides excellent customer service, including greeting customers, taking care of customer requests and maintaining order during special events.
• During event, will check restrooms for cleanliness and re-stock supplies as needed.
• Supervise patrons, participants and officials and enforces all rules, policies and procedures of the Agency.
• Responsible for keeping all areas securely locked, except for areas in use and report any damage or problems to supervisor.
• Patrols/monitors all public areas associated with the activity and documents concerns or corrective actions needed.
• May receive calls during event and provide detailed information relating to special events and other Agency activities.
• Hours are dependent upon Activity schedule – Maximum of 29 hours per week.
