Qualifications

• Two years of post-secondary study totaling 72 credits or 48 semester credits.
• Associate degree or higher.
• Formal state/local assessment demonstrating reading, writing, and math knowledge (HQ).
• Previous training in instructional techniques and behavior management.
• Basic clerical skills and ability to type.
• Bilingual proficiency and/or multicultural experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist teacher in planning and implementing educational and behavioral programs; support students with disabilities.
• Perform clerical tasks and monitor student progress; track grades and test mastery.
• Prepare lessons and review content; tutor one-to-one or in small groups.
• Prepare classroom materials and maintain filing systems; update bulletin boards.
• Supervise in resource room or hallway; manage behavior and safety.
• Arrange parent-teacher conferences and assist with communication.
