Job summary

Anderson County School District 5 North Pointe Elementary School in Anderson, SC is seeking a Part-Time (.25) Special Education Teacher (Resource) to provide quality support for students with varying disabilities. Immediate starting date with ongoing performance-based evaluation, within the Office of Human Resources structure.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in education, successful teaching experience with students with disabilities, and a demonstrated proficiency in using technology.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in education from an accredited college.
  • Documented successful teaching experience with students with disabilities.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in the use of technology.
  • Multi-categorical certification and experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Instructs individuals who have been identified, assessed and diagnosed with disabilities.
  • Implements behavior modification techniques and classroom strategies to produce desirable behaviors.
  • Writes academic and behavioral goals and objectives for IEPs and lesson plans.
  • Develops and provides a variety of activities to meet lesson and program objectives.
  • Maintains classroom discipline and a safe environment for all students.
  • Collaborates with parents and staff to support student learning.
  • Monitors progress using appropriate assessment tools and data reviews.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
