Job summary

McCants Middle School in Anderson, SC is seeking a Part-Time (.25) Special Education Teacher (Resource) to provide quality instructional services for students with varying disabilities. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in education from an accredited college.
• Documented successful teaching experience with students with disabilities.
• Demonstrated proficiency in the use of technology.
• Multi-categorical certification and experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Instructs individuals who have been identified, assessed and diagnosed with disabilities.
• Implements behavior modification techniques and classroom engineering skills to produce desirable behaviors.
• Writes academic and behavioral goals and objectives for IEPs and lesson plans.
• Develops a wide variety of activities to meet lesson and program objectives.
• Maintains classroom discipline and a safe environment for all students.
• Utilizes evaluation instruments and progress monitoring to guide instruction.
• Engages parents and encourages their participation in their child’s program.
• Monitors learning using multiple strategies and adjusts instructional approaches as needed.
• Teaches daily living skills.
• Maintains confidentiality of student records.
• Collaborates with faculty and district HR staff; participates in staff meetings and committees.
