Lenox Hill Neighborhood House in New York, NY is seeking an Evening Program Assistant to support the Women’s Mental Health Shelter and its 24/7 operations. You’ll assist with administrative, customer service and operational tasks, coordinating with the multidisciplinary team to help clients move from homelessness to permanent housing.

The role requires a busy, people‑oriented professional able to work evenings and weekends, with strong communication and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service and communication skills; able to multi‑task in a busy setting.
• Experience supporting shelter operations or similar environments is preferred.
• Fluency in Spanish is ideal.

Responsibilities

• Interface daily with clients by delivering excellent customer service and orienting clients.
• Support clients with activities of daily living and medications; observe client‑administered medications.
• De‑escalate crises and document incidents clearly with summaries in a timely manner.
• Perform physical tasks such as serving meals and distributing supplies.
• Assist with shelter intake and identify priority concerns.
• Ensure shelter operations meet high performance standards and regulations.
• Collaborate with staff from various departments; perform other duties as assigned.
