Job summary

Purple Communications, Inc. is seeking a part-time American Sign Language interpreter to provide high quality interpreting through video in a call center and on-site at various customer locations when needed.

Interpreters must be fluent in ASL and English, with strong interpreting skills and a thorough knowledge of the NAD-RID Code of Professional Conduct. A 40 hour New Hire Training is required.

Qualifications

• Fluent ASL and spoken English required.
• Ability to provide accurate interpretation.
• Understanding of Deaf culture and NAD-RID Code of Conduct.
• 3–5 years interpreting experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide video relay service, video remote interpreting, and on-site interpreting.
• Support and model the company’s mission and values.
• Deliver excellent customer service with professionalism.
• Maintain punctuality and preparedness for shifts; work with colleagues and supervisors.
• Adhere to policies and FCC regulations.
• Adapt quickly to new technologies and video-based tools.
• Multi-task interpreting and video-based tasks efficiently.

• Ability to travel independently with access to a vehicle and valid license and insurance.
