Job summary

Purple Communications, Inc. is seeking a full-time Sign Language Interpreter to provide high-quality interpreting via video relay, video remote interpreting, and on-site at customer locations as needed.

Fluency in American Sign Language and spoken English is required, with strict adherence to the NAD-RID Code of Professional Conduct. The position offers a full benefits package, a stable schedule, and opportunities for professional development.

Qualifications

• Fluent ASL and spoken English language skills.
• Accurate interpretation abilities.
• Good understanding of Deaf culture.
• Adherence to the NAD-RID Code of Professional Conduct.
• Three to five years of interpreting experience preferred.
• State licensure or credentials as applicable.
• Must be 18 years or older.

Responsibilities

• Provide effective video relay service, video remote interpreting, and onsite interpreting for consumers.
• Support and model the company's mission and values.
• Provide excellent customer service with a respectful, professional attitude.
• Maintain punctuality and preparedness for shifts and accurate record keeping.
• Adhere to FCC regulations and company policies.
• Adapt to new technologies and multitask between interpreting and video-based tools.
• Participate in professional development trainings and meetings.
• Travel independently when required; access to a vehicle and insurance if driving.
• Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills in all settings.
