Job summary

Purple Communications, Inc. is seeking a part-time ASL interpreter to provide high-quality interpreting via video in a call center and on-site at client locations as needed.

Fluent ASL and English are required, with accurate interpretation and strong knowledge of the NAD-RID Code. You must be able to work 24 hours per week and complete the 40-hour New Hire Training, with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Fluent ASL and spoken English language skills.
• Able to provide accurate interpretation.
• Understanding of Deaf culture.
• Knowledge and adherence to NAD-RID Code of Professional Conduct.
• Three to five years of interpreting experience (preferred).
• State licensure or state-required credentials.
• You must be 18 years or older to apply.

Responsibilities

• Provide effective video relay service, video remote interpreting, and on-site interpreting for consumers.
• Support and model the company’s mission and values.
• Provide excellent customer service while maintaining a respectful and professional attitude.
• Adhere to FCC regulations and company policies.
• Demonstrate adaptability to new technologies and fast-paced environments.
• Travel independently when required and manage shifts with minimal supervision.
