Catholic Charities Family and Community Services (CCFCS) in Rochester, NY is hiring a Part-time Per Diem Residential Support role. The position involves serving individuals in a shelter setting, assisting with admissions, crisis intervention, and ensuring safety and supportive care.

The role emphasizes trauma-informed care, teamwork, and community partnership, with responsibilities including intake, supervision of residents, and documentation.

Qualifications

• Education: Associate Degree in Human Services or related field preferred.
• Credentials: Valid and clean NYS Driver’s License.
• Experience: Two years of experience in the human services field; homeless client issues and conflict resolution experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversees operation of the residence.
• Conducts intakes for individuals entering the residence.
• Acts as liaison with other community service providers/referral sources.
• Provides information and referral service for telephone inquiries.
• supervises preparation of meals by residents to assure sanitation & nutritional standards are met.
• Provides crisis intervention and conflict management to residents.
• Maintains record-keeping responsibilities including client census and database system.
• Notifies Residence Manager of any emergency situations immediately.
• Assists with providing support and direction for clients and volunteers.
• Completes incident reports within one hour of occurrence and documents all details.
• Documents shift/client observations per procedures.
• Ensures clients meet with onsite medical providers.
• Monitors safety and location of residents.
• Conducts hourly rounds and overnight checks as applicable.
• Reports serious incidents to Residence Manager.
• Verifies presence of clients and documents sign-in/out.
