Job summary

The Salvation Army Midland Division Family Haven Shelter in St. Louis, Missouri, is seeking a part-time Residential Care Specialist to support clients and maintain a safe, orderly environment. This non-exempt role is 25 hours per week at $15.50 per hour, located at 10740 Page Ave, St.

Louis. Responsibilities include bed checks, enforcing rules, maintaining logs, answering phones, and supporting residents with chores and trainings.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent with related social service experience.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills are essential in a shelter setting.
• Team oriented with the ability to work with diverse and challenging personalities; basic computer skills expected.

Responsibilities

• Support clients in maintaining safety and order within the facility and grounds.
• Conduct hourly bed checks and document them for safety and compliance.
• Enforce shelter rules fairly and consistently; assist with chores and trainings as needed.
• Maintain shelter journal and incident logs; answer phones and relay messages.
• Attend team meetings, trainings, and organizational events; participate in fundraising activities.
