The Salvation Army Midland Division Family Haven Shelter in St. Louis, Missouri, is seeking a Residential Care Specialist Overnight for a part-time schedule of 25 hours per week at $15.50 per hour.

The role involves guiding clients, ensuring safety, and maintaining order within the shelter, with duties across shift changes and team collaboration. Essential tasks include documentation, chore coaching, and phone communications, along with participation in staff trainings and organizational events.

Qualificações

• High School Diploma or equivalent with 1 year in a social service setting or 2 years residential experience.
• Ability to work with diverse and challenging personalities.
• Good communication and teamwork skills; self-starter with minimal supervision.
• Proficiency with basic computer tasks is desirable.

Responsabilidades

• Support clients in practicing positive behavior to maintain safety and order.
• Conduct hourly bed checks on all shifts and document findings.
• Enforce resident rules and policies fairly and consistently.
• Maintain the shelter journal/log and review incidents.
• Answer phones, relay messages, and communicate information appropriately.
• Coach residents on completing chores and provide support.
• Maintain cleanliness in offices and shared spaces.
• Attend team meetings and trainings; participate in events.
• Complete trainings in a timely manner and communicate professionally.
• Foster a respectful work environment and resolve conflicts.
