Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent with one year in a social service setting or two years residential experience without a diploma.
• Higher education in psychology, social work, criminal justice or related field is a plus.
• Must be a team player, a self-starter, and perform well with minimal supervision.
• Good communication skills and ability to work with diverse and challenging personalities.
• Computer skills are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Guide and ensure client safety.
• Support clients in practicing positive behavior and activities to maintain safety and order.
• Conduct hourly bed checks on all shifts to ensure client safety and compliance.
• Enforce resident rules fairly and consistently.
• Maintain shelter journal/log with shift incidents and reviews.
• Answer phones, take messages, and relay information appropriately.
• Coach residents through chores; provide support and training as needed.
• Help maintain cleanliness and order in office and shared spaces.
• Attend team meetings, trainings, and organizational events.
• Complete trainings in a timely manner.
• Foster a positive, respectful work environment with clients and staff.
• Resolve conflicts professionally and respect others' property and space.
