Job summary

Family Pathways is seeking a Part-Time DVSA Shelter Advocate in Cambridge, MN to provide crisis intervention and direct service for residents of a domestic violence shelter. The role emphasizes trauma-informed care and systems advocacy, supporting intake, orientation, and resident well-being.

You will plan groups, coordinate advocacy, and assist with transportation while collaborating with staff to promote safety and healing for residents and families.

Qualifications

• Crisis intervention experience and trauma-informed care preferred.
• Ability to perform intake and orientation within 24 hours of shelter entry.
• Strong advocacy, coordination, and transportation support skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration with shelter staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide crisis intervention and supportive direct services to shelter residents.
• Coordinate personal and legal advocacy and case planning with residents.
• Complete intake and orient new residents within 24 hours.
• Plan and lead resident groups on topics like parenting and illness management.
• Assist with problem-solving, conflict de-escalation, and creating a healing environment.
• Transport residents as needed.
