Job summary

Family Pathways in Cambridge, MN is seeking a Shelter Advocate to provide crisis intervention, direct service, and advocacy for residents of a domestic violence shelter. The role supports trauma-informed care and collaborates with staff to ensure safety and access to services.

The position is part-time (days & weekends) with a $500 sign-on bonus and opportunities to engage residents in group activities and supportive planning.

Qualifications

• Intake within 24 hours of entry into the shelter.
• Ability to operate a 24-hour crisis line and assess calls.
• Apply Primary Advocate approach to resident planning.
• Coordinate personal and legal advocacy with residents.

Responsibilities

• Provide crisis intervention and direct services to residents.
• Engage in systems advocacy for shelter residents.
• Complete intake forms and orient residents to the shelter.
• Plan resident groups and activities as needed.
• Assist with transportation when required.
