General Description

SUNY Niagara’s Savor Restaurant at the Niagara Falls Culinary Institute campus needs Part Time Servers. The restaurant provides an upscale dining experience and a hands‑on learning environment for culinary students. Servers greet guests, prepare tables, take food and beverage orders, maintain a clean and sanitary work environment, and support students completing culinary tasks as directed by instructors. The position reports to the Hospitality Program Coordinator. Pay is based on education level: $22.52 per hour for a bachelor’s degree or lower; $24.76 per hour for a master’s degree or higher. Tips are not accepted.

Typical Work Activities

• Welcoming and seating diners in the dining section
• Taking customer food and drink orders
• Collaborating with kitchen and bar staff for prompt and correct delivery of orders
• Memorizing the menu and recommending appetizers, meals and drinks from the wine stock
• Delivering a memorable dining experience by resolving all customer issues promptly
• Assisting with tidying tables, clearing leftovers and keeping the dining area neat and pleasant
• Setting tables and rearranging the dining area to accommodate larger groups and prepare for special events
• Ensuring cooking utensils and kitchen areas are cleaned after closing to comply with state regulations
• Performing other duties as assigned
