Thornton Township in South Holland, IL is seeking a part-time Senior Services Clerk to perform clerical duties, assist senior residents, and support events. The role requires customer service, data entry and food handling as part of the Senior Services program.

Salary is $20.00 per hour with up to 29 hours per week. The position reports to the Senior Services Manager or designee and may involve work at multiple township sites and events.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Clerical, customer service or administrative experience is required.
• Prior food-handling or food service experience is required; experience with older adults is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist senior residents, visitors and callers courteously; respond to inquiries and direct requests appropriately.
• Perform data entry, filing, document preparation, appointment scheduling and general office support.
• Maintain accurate participant, attendance, service and program records while safeguarding confidential information.
• Assist with registration, check-in, check-out and coordination of Senior Services programs and activities.
• Provide setup, breakdown and on-site support at Senior Services events, including indoor and outdoor activities.
• Follow department procedures, workplace safety rules and instructions from the designated supervisor.
