Job summary

True Connection Communities is seeking a part-time Cook for Friday to Sunday at Verena at the Reserve in Williamsburg, VA. The role involves preparing meals safely and according to dietary standards, assisting in the kitchen and ensuring quality.

You will work 6:00am to 2:00pm, maintaining cleanliness, following food-safety regulations, and collaborating with a team to serve residents and guests. Previous line cook or prep cook experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Proven cooking experience, including experience as a line chef, restaurant cook or prep cook.
• Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
• Basic understanding of food handling techniques, preparation, and cooking procedures.
• Must be able to work quickly and efficiently.
• Must be able to work well as part of a team.
• Must be able to work well under pressure.
• Ability to maintain personal cleanliness.
• Culinary school diploma preferred.

Responsibilities

• Cleans, cuts, prepares, and cooks meat, fish, or poultry to a safe temperature.
• Prepares and cooks various items according to menus, special dietary or nutritional requirements, or numbers of portions to be served.
• Bakes breads, rolls, and pastries.
• Portions and serves food to residents, guests and team members.
• Washes cooking equipment such as pots, pans, dishes, utensils, and other pieces.
• Inventories supplies and equipment.
• Determines, or assists in determining meals and menus.
• Ensures the cleanliness and functional operation of galley equipment, kitchen appliances, and work areas by routinely cleaning and inspecting each piece.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
