Job summary

Hireology in Williamsburg, VA is seeking an Activity Assistant to support the Resident Programs team by planning and executing social, recreational and educational events for residents, engaging all senses and meeting state requirements.

The role includes providing daily transportation for residents, supporting the Program Director, and assisting with activity schedules; weekends rotate with occasional evenings.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; college experience preferred.
• Experience in a senior living environment strongly preferred.
• Two years’ experience in activities strongly preferred.
• Strong computer skills and general healthcare knowledge.
• Must have a clear and insurable driving record, current driver's license and willingness to drive a passenger van.

Responsibilities

• Assist planning, developing, and preparing a variety of exercises, social, recreational and educational events.
• Conduct all transportation for residents and medical transportation when needed.
• Maintain knowledge of local communities, services, and events and incorporate into activity schedules.
• Establish a welcoming atmosphere for residents and staff.
• Promote teamwork and monitor activities with other disciplines as necessary.
• Continually evaluate activity quality and make adjustments as needed.
• Other duties as assigned
