Job summary

Commonwealth Senior Living in Hampton, VA, is seeking an Activity Assistant to support Resident Programs with daily social and physical activities.

The role includes planning, leading, and executing events, transporting residents, and assisting the Program Director; requires driving and strong computer skills.

Schedule: Full-time, Monday–Friday with every other weekend and occasional evenings.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; college experience preferred.
• Experience in a senior living environment strongly preferred.
• Two years of activities experience preferred.
• Clear driving record and willingness to drive a passenger van.
• Strong computer skills and basic healthcare knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Assist planning and executing a variety of exercises, social, recreational and educational events.
• Conduct transportation for residents, including medical transportation.
• Incorporate local activities and services into the activity schedule.
• Establish a warm and welcoming atmosphere for residents and staff.
• Promote teamwork and monitor activities with other disciplines.
• Evaluate and adjust activities to maintain quality.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
