Job summary

Food Lion in North Wilkesboro, NC is seeking a Part-time Self-Checkout Ambassador to provide fast, friendly service and support customers at the SCO area. You will greet shoppers, assist with self-checkouts, and ensure a clean, efficient checkout experience.

Key responsibilities include guiding customers on using the hand scanner, monitoring stations for accuracy, and following Front End Standard Practices. Prior retail/customer service experience is helpful.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Effective communication and customer service skills.
• Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
• Must meet minimum age requirements to perform specific job functions.
• Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations.

Responsibilities

• Smile and provide prompt, accurate and friendly service while engaging customers to create a positive shopping experience.
• Greet each customer and uses their name whenever possible.
• Assist customers on how to use Self-checkouts properly including use of the hand scanner for a Fast and Easy checkout experience.
• Respond timely to customer inquiries and self-checkout system notifications.
• Monitor multiple self-checkouts for proper customer usage including the scanning of all items and the accurate scanning of each item.
• Remind customers of items located on the bottom of the cart or items under baby seats prior to them completing the transaction.
• When needed, assist in scanning the customer's order and provide instructions on payment.
• Complete self-checkout voids, age restricted item verifications and any other SCO assist function in accordance with Front End Standard Practice.
• Maintain alertness and call for assistance when needed to service customers per service standards.
