Food Lion in North Wilkesboro, NC is seeking a part-time Self Checkout Ambassador to deliver fast, friendly service at the front end. You will greet customers, guide them through self-checkouts, and maintain the checkout area per Front End standards.

The role emphasizes reliable communication, teamwork with store staff, and the ability to handle payment processing and age-verification as needed. It requires staying on your feet and adhering to uniform guidelines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Willingness to learn multiple tasks and tech requirements.

Responsibilities

• Smile and provide prompt, accurate and friendly service while engaging customers to create a positive shopping experience.
• Greet each customer and use their name whenever possible.
• Assist customers on how to use Self-checkouts properly including use of the hand scanner for a Fast and Easy checkout experience.
• Respond timely to customer inquiries and self-checkout system notifications.
• Monitor multiple self-checkouts for proper customer usage including the scanning of all items and the accurate scanning of each item.
• Remind customers of items located on the bottom of the cart or items under baby seats prior to them completing the transaction.
• Complete self-checkout voids, age restricted item verifications and any other SCO assist function in accordance with Front End Standard Practice.
• Wear the Food Lion uniform, complete with name badge, when on duty, has a neat and clean appearance while adhering to Food Lion dress code.
• Completely restock and maintain neat presentation of self-checkout area.
• Report any self-checkout issues to the Customer Service Manager or MOD.
• Adhere to all company guidelines, policies and standard practices.
