Job summary

Food Lion in Greensboro, NC is seeking a Front End/Self-Checkout Attendant to deliver friendly, accurate service at the store's self-checkout area. You will greet customers, assist with self-checkouts, monitor stations, and ensure a clean, organized SCO space.

Training will cover CBT modules and standard procedures for payments, voids, and age verifications. You will collaborate with team members to maintain safety, adhere to dress code, and support a positive shopping experience for every guest

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Effective communication and customer service skills.
• Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
• Must meet minimum age requirements to perform specific job functions.
• Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations.

Responsibilities

• Smile and provide prompt, accurate and friendly service while engaging customers to create a positive shopping experience.
• Greet each customer and use their name whenever possible.
• Assist customers on how to use Self-checkouts properly including use of the hand scanner for a Fast and Easy checkout experience.
• Respond timely to customer inquiries and self-checkout system notifications.
• Monitor multiple self-checkouts for proper customer usage including the scanning of all items and the accurate scanning of each item.
• Remind customers of items located on the bottom of the cart or items under baby seats prior to them completing the transaction.
• Follow procedures in handling proper acceptance and payment processing at self-checkout for checks and coupons.
• Maintain alertness and call for assistance when needed to service customers per service standards.
• Engage and identify self-checkout customers needing assistance.
• Wear the Food Lion uniform, complete with name badge, when on duty, has a neat and clean appearance.
• Ensure self-checkout area has a neat and clean presentation and report issues as needed.
